Surrounded by negativity ?

Do you ever feel like everyone around is against you ..or that nothing good ever happens to you?

LET'S BE MINDFUL

Imagine for a minute that you are in the same room with a colorblind person. In front of you, there is an object, and you begin to discuss its shape and size. Then, you comment on how strong and beautiful the color of that object is, but the colorblind person next to you perceives the color completely differently and disagrees.

Both of you are right because you both see something different. Although reality is objective, how we perceive any situation is completely subjective. It would be foolish and even a waste of time to start arguing about a color with a colorblind person. You will never see life through their eyes, and vice versa. You can both accept that even though the same object is in front of you at the same time, how you perceive the object is a personal and unique experience.

In fact, the object doesn't have a color. The eyes and brain work wonderfully together, transforming light into color. Light receptors send messages to the brain to create the sensation or illusion of color. The surface of an object is what reflects or absorbs light, creating in our eyes various colors based on the three primary colors.

Where am I going with this?

Sometimes we let ourselves be 'blinded' by evidence when the evidence is just a subjective perception on our part. Sometimes we are so determined to prove our point that we don't even realize that our truth is not the absolute truth. And the truth of the person next to us does not have to be our truth.

I sometimes feel that if I accept a situation instead of fighting for my perspective and my truth, I lose and it feels as if I've given up. And I think most of us feel the same way. Instead of accepting and appreciating each other's different opinions ,we all want our truth to be recognized, and our perspective to be validated by everyone around us, whether they are strangers , friends or our most loved ones.

Life's challenges and negativity can feel overwhelming, but remember that your perception shapes your reality. By recognizing that everyone sees the world differently and deploying your Happy Army, you can combat negativity and cultivate a more positive, fulfilling life. Accept the different perspectives around you, use your Happy Army to fight off the darkness, and let your affirmation cards be the daily reminders that keep you on track. Embrace the power of positivity, and watch as your world transforms.

Have you ever seen that meme of the number 6 (or 9) lying on the ground. On one side, there is someone who, looking at the number, shouts '9'. On the opposite side, the other person shouts '6'. Quite amusing, I think. As in the previous example, each of the two people has a different perception of the same situation. The difference between the two stories, however, is that although it's more complicated to change your perception of color (to see what a colorblind person sees), it's much easier to move to the other side of the number and understand why the person next to you is shouting a completely different number from what you see in front of your eyes.

Embracing Positivity in a World Full of Negativity

It's the same with negativity. Maybe you feel that all the recent situations have a negative impact on your life, maybe you feel that the world is spinning in a completely wrong direction and that everything is going wrong. I'm here to remind you that the world is full of happy people (like me) who almost always see only the positive side. Are we lunatics, or are you too negative? Although all you have to do is 'change your perspective', I 100% KNOW that it's not as easy as it sounds.

So how can you shift your perspective and combat negativity? Have you heard of .. the Happy Army ?

Your Happy Army: Combatting Negativity with Positivity

Your Happy Army is composed of every small and big thing that brings you joy, much like soldiers ready to fight off the darkness. Each act of happiness, each positive thought, is a soldier in your Happy Army. Here’s how to deploy them effectively:

  1. Identify Your Happy Soldiers: Take stock of what brings you joy, whether it's the smell of fresh oranges, a good book, a walk in nature, or a conversation with a friend. These are your soldiers.

  2. Affirmation Cards: Use affirmation cards as daily reminders of positivity. Each card is a call to arms for your Happy Army, reinforcing positive thoughts and helping you see the brighter side of things. Place them where you’ll see them often—on your mirror, your desk, or in your wallet or as your phone's lock screen.

  3. Mindful Shifts: When faced with negativity, take a moment to mentally 'move to the other side of the number'. Try to understand the situation from another perspective. This shift can help you see potential positives that were initially hidden.

  4. Celebrate Small Wins: Every positive action, no matter how small, is a victory for your Happy Army. Celebrate these wins, as they build momentum and strengthen your resilience against negativity.

  5. Share Your Positivity: Happiness is contagious. Share your joy with others, and you'll often find that it not only amplifies your own happiness but also helps those around you see the positive side of things.
